Micro PTC treatment with RF ablation (A 43 years old man from Iraq)

It’s a thyroid nodule with normal parenchyma with multiple directions and multiple dimensions, because the nodule is not circle and have irregular border, the greatest dimension is about 6.2 mm.

It’s the color Doppler sonography, some vessels around the lesion (the micro carcinoma)

It’s the needle that was introduced around the thyroid to inject some cool Saline to separate thyroid capsule from adjacent tissue and also dissection from carotid.

Thyroid capsule is dissected from Saline and it’s your micro carcinoma.

After that we start the RF ablation.

It’s the needle come from percutaneous trans-isthmic approach up to thyroid nodule and after release the RF wave the surrounding tissue around the needle becomes echogenic.

It’s compatible with necrosis in pathology.

We move the needle in multiple directions and repeat it more to ensure all of the micro carcinomas were ablated.

At the end of procedure, you can see your nodule becomes echogenic and

no vessels is seen in thyroid nodule.
